Scenic City Opera Bringing Lost Operatic Gems Back to the Stage
Scenic City Opera is a brand new organization based in Chattanooga, TN. We have big goals, but we are still very small. Following is a little bit of information about how we operate right now:
Do you have your non-profit status?
YES! All donations made to Scenic City Opera are tax deductible to full the extent allowable by the law.
Are my donations to Scenic City Opera tax deductible?
Yes!
Does Scenic City Opera pay their artists?
This is a tough question to answer. The goal, of course, is to pay everyone involved a fair fee for their time, talent, and effort. In the early stages of the company, this won’t always be possible. We hope to pay at least a travel-stipend to out-of-town performers, and plan to pay all principal singers at least a nominal honorarium. It’s not much to begin with, but with your continued support of what Scenic City Opera plans to do in coming seasons that’s sure to improve.
How can I help?
There are many MANY ways you can help Scenic City Opera reach it’s goals.
- Volunteer as an usher or ticket taker
- If you are a skilled craftsman, costumer, or other sort of service useful in the theatre, we will always welcome volunteers
- You or your company could buy advertising in our programs and on our website
- You or your company could sponsor an aspect of the show and get sponsor-status in our programs and on our website
- Donate
- Buy tickets, and tell your friends to buy tickets
- Talk up our shows on your social media pages! Word of mouth is the single best way to bring in an audience.
- Donate refreshments for intermission
- Serve on our Board of Directors
