Auditions

Scenic City Opera (SCO) is currently seeking covers for principal roles in Marschner’s “Der Vampyr”. Specific characters needing covers are Lord Ruthven (baritone), Edgar Aubry (tenor – almost a heldentenor), and Malwina Davenaut (soprano). We are also seeking tenors and basses for our chorus. Note that covers will get at least one performance, and will be required to sing in the chorus for the other performances.

Staging rehearsals begin May 16. There will be 6 performances beginning May 26

Friday, May 26 – 7:30pm
Saturday, May 27 – 7:30pm
Sunday, May 28 – 2:00pm
Friday, June 2 – 7:30pm
Saturday, June 3 – 7:30pm
Sunday, June 4 – 2:00pm

Please note that the chorus in this opera is really a character unto itself. Preference will go to fairly local singers who can attend at least a few chorus rehearsals during the month of April and early May.

There is no pay available, however we will offer a small honorarium to hopefully cover at least the cost of travel to and from Chattanooga (for covers only).
